2016 Year in Review
“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day.”
― Edith Lovejoy Pierce
Happy New Year! It's that time of year when our social media feeds get clogged with really lovely, well meaning quotes like the one above. It's a New Year, New You! We are all so eager to steamroll ahead with big plans for the New Year.
And while the Social Media Photographers team are eager to write some pretty awesome stories in our 2017 book, we decided to to do things a little differently before charging ahead into the New Year activity. We took some time to reflect on 2016. We wanted to use reflection to help us to review what we have achieved so that we can improve our performance in 2017.
Social Media Photographers 2016 Year in Review
Our clients are passionate about learning.
Our goal has always been to help businesses share simple, beautiful and effective images with their audiences on social media. And we worked hard in 2016 to achieve this- whether it was taking the photos ourselves or training and up-skilling others to take better photos with their smartphones. In 2016 we facilitated 25 public workshops and training events across South East Queensland. Our most popular workshops included:
We already have secured workshop booking through to July 2017 and will be coming to lots of new venues (answering the call for more support for regional and rural areas as well!). Keep up to date with our latest events on our Facebook Page.
Our workshops are pretty awesome.
Most workshops, don’t go beyond the pretty & creative of social media. Or even worse, you get overloaded with expensive strategies that are just not meaningful to your business right now. Trust us, we have all been there, done that and walked away feeling like we wasted time and money. That's why our workshops are different.
We survey our workshop attendees to ensure that we:
And in 2016, 99% of our workshop attendees said that they were extremely satisfied with our programs. High fives all around. We are going to keep up that level of quality service in 2017 by updating the content of our workshops and launching new workshops (with remote delivery options).
You trust us to provide affordable, high quality professional profile photos.
Everyone deserves to look their very best in a photo. And thanks to our mobile Pop Up Studio and Amber's magic camera there are 256 professional stars that are shining a bit brighter in 2016. This year we were also lucky enough to take the Pop Up Studio on the road with visits to Sydney and Melbourne as part of the Franchise Relationships Institute franchise industry events.
In 2017 we'll be continuing to help people feel comfortable and look their best in their photos. If you're not sure if it's time to update your profile photo, have a read of our 7 Faces of Linkedin Article.
When you need a professional photographer, we're here to help.
We love helping people improve the quality of their smartphone photography so they can build an image library. But there are some jobs that require a professional setup to achieve a professional result. In 2016, the Social Media Photographers team provided professional photography services at 37 events and product shoots. In 2017, when you are planning your next event or building a marketing kit and image library for your products and services we are here to help. We couldn't be a success without our amazing clients and supporters.
Thank you for your trust, support, referrals and recommendations. We love what we do and the people that we get to meet and work with.
